ECG Complete heart block


A 53 year old male comes to JIPMER, Emergency department with chief complaints of giddiness on and off since last 10 days with one episode of syncope one day back. During evaluation in the emergency department patient pulse rate was 35 per minute, B-110/60 mmhg. ECG of the patient done in the emergency department is shown below.

Description of the ECG-AV dissociation present, atrial rate was 100 per minute, ventricular rate at 36 per minute, Narrow QRS, RBBB morphology, QT interval 450 msec, Left axis deviation so impression of the ecg is complete heart block

Patient underwent successful Pacemaker implantation at department of Cardiology, JIPMER Hosptial under the guidance of Dr Raja Selvaraj and his team and was discharged in stable condition.
